Pilates reformer

.
Pilates reformer is the exercise of modern times. It is used by professional sports clubs throughout the UK and world wide to improve athlete performance and focus on muscle strength, control and endurance. The reformer takes Pilates to a whole new level using techniques modified from Joseph Pilates. Joseph, a German circus trainer and boxer, lived in the UK and during WW1, he was captured as a prisoner of war in Lancaster Castle. During his time there he used spring beds to rehabilitate injured soldiers and it became evident those following Joseph’s exercise plan were getting stronger quicker than those who did not.

Following WWI Joseph and Clara fled to New York in 1926 where Pilates was born.

The Pilates reformer was later developed using a chassis with resistance springs to challenge modern day Pilates movements and increase strength and control. Sessions are taught on a one to one basis, small class sizes will be available soon.
